About Me Some background info on me
My name is Mike Rowlands. I live in Kent, England but I’ve been skiing since I was two years old and took up freestyle skiing when I was nine.
I compete in the Olympic freestyle discipline of slopestyle skiing which is essentially throwing myself down a mountain course consisting of a series of huge snow ramps and rails while performing intricate, complex, mid-air tricks and doing it with “style”.
I want to promote and develop my sport of Freeskiing by getting it more airtime in the mainstream media and into the eyes of the general population. It is a progressive sport that is exciting to watch.
My goal is to represent Great Britain in the Winter Olympics alongside my younger sister, teammates and fellow competitors that I have grown up skiing with. I also want to compete in the X-Games and the Dew Tour.
I enjoy skiing because of the places it takes me, the people I get to meet and the overall atmosphere and fun vibe of skiing.
